Trail Overview

Opossum Trot Road SFR 628 is a scenic well maintained gravel road through Shawnee National Forest. The trail features great views and ease of driving, but if you are looking for the thrill it has a few branch trails that lead off it with some medium to hard challenges, but overall the Opossum Trot is your ticket to get away from the world and be one with the nature around you. The only major obstacle you may encounter is an occasional fallen tree, and small gravel washboard.

Difficulty

Just a simple nature viewing route that is easy to traverse, with enough room to pass with ease. If the season is wet minor washboarding and ruts could form, but they would be minimal.
