Trail Overview

This is a 1.7-mile-long ATV trail through the Gila National Forest that makes a short loop with trail #965. The trail is mostly flat, with very little elevation gain, and is very similar to trail #965. It weaves between juniper trees on a flat mesa top. The trail is wide and silty, following along a fence line with trail markers at the beginning and end, making it very easy to follow. It is mostly just dirt, silt, and pea gravel, with a few embedded and loose rocks here and there. There aren't any major obstacles, making it a fun and approachable loop for newer or beginner riders, easily accessible from North Star Road and FS Road 4079R.
