Trail Overview

This trail is accessed directly from the paved US 2 Highway and offers a quiet drive through a heavily forested area. The route is a mix of gravel and sand and features a winding path that passes through tall grass and stretches of overgrown vegetation, making pinstriping on vehicles possible. Fallen trees are common along the way, though many have already been cleared to keep the track open. Drivers should still be prepared for obstacles, as a few trees remain across or overhanging the route, including one very large tree that leans over the trail, making it wise to carry a chainsaw if venturing far. The surface is uneven in places, with potholes, gentle ascents, and descents, but remains manageable for most off-road capable vehicles. The trail continues until it reaches an intersection, where it connects with trails 3024A, 2347, and 2971, providing options to extend the journey. There are no side trails branching off the main route before this junction, so the path is fairly straightforward. The trail does not offer dispersed or formal camping opportunities, and there are no services such as trash disposal or potable water. Cell phone coverage may be limited, so visitors should plan accordingly. This is a practical, forested trail that links directly to other established routes and requires some caution due to overgrowth and fallen trees.

Difficulty

This trail is not regularly maintained, but it appears to be used by other off-roaders, which helps keep the forest from encroaching on the trail.
