Trail Overview
This trail follows a two-track path that is generally suited for single-vehicle use. The route is well-maintained but has a ditch running along one side, so drivers should use caution when passing through narrower sections. The trail leads toward Goose Lake and passes by private property along the way, at times running between open corn fields and forested edges, giving it a varied landscape. As the trail approaches the lake, it opens into a small clearing just before the parking loop and boat launch. A posted sign at this clearing permits camping, making it one of the few areas along the route where overnight use is allowed. The lake itself is a popular spot, especially during wild rice harvesting season, and visitors may encounter increased activity in the area at that time. Beyond the clearing, the trail does not provide any additional formal campsites or amenities. Services such as trash disposal and potable water are not available, and cell phone service may be limited or unreliable. This route offers straightforward access to Goose Lake and its water facilities, with a basic camping option at the designated clearing, but little in the way of other conveniences.
