About Wagonhound Off-Road Park

Located 20 miles west of Thermopolis, Wagonhound Off-Road Park spans 2,200 acres of rugged high-desert terrain operated by the Central Wyoming 4×4 Association. The park features trails from mild to extreme rock crawling. Nestled between the Shoshone and Bighorn national forests, this park explores a remote and scenic section of Wyoming’s wild backcountry. Towns within a five-hour drive include Jackson, Cheyenne, Gillette, Casper, and Cody—drawing off-roaders from across the state.

With Thermopolis nearby, access to lodging, fuel, restaurants, and hot springs is just minutes away, making it a convenient basecamp for off-roaders. The park allows on-site camping, although no hookups or utilities are available. So visitors should be fully self-sufficient and come prepared. Visitors to Wagonhound highlight the park’s challenging, high-elevation terrain and abundance of area attractions that have earned it a solid reputation as one of Wyoming’s go-to spots for rugged off-roading.
