Trail Overview

Salt Fork Creek Section 4 trail follows along the historic fork of the Salt Fork, part of the Red River, that carved the Palo Duro Canyon. This part of the creek is very sandy with rocks in sections. Along the way, you will find the Sand Pit area where Merus Adventure Stage 5 Off Road Driving Academy sets up recovery scenarios. This is a great place to get your vehicle stuck and work on your own recovery skills. With access to many trails and the Merus 101, this is a trail worth a look.
