Trail Overview
Goliad Drive traverses classic Chihuahuan Desert terrain, running along the base and lower slopes of Agua Fria Mountain. The route follows a rugged dirt and rock surface with sections of loose stone, uneven grading, and natural desert erosion. As the trail contours along the mountainside, drivers will encounter off-camber sections where careful tire placement is important. Portions of the road consist of very loose rock that can reduce traction, especially on climbs and turns. Depending on recent weather, minor washouts and deeper ruts may also be present. The surrounding landscape features open desert views, rolling terrain, and dramatic mountain backdrops, making this a scenic but more technical backroad option in the area.

Difficulty
Goliad Drive features uneven terrain, off-camber sections, and extended stretches of very loose rock that can reduce traction. Proper high clearance and true 4WD are recommended to safely navigate the trail, especially on climbs and angled sections along the mountainside. Drivers should be comfortable with careful tire placement and variable desert conditions. Not suitable for low-clearance vehicles.
