Trail Overview
Trail 319 is a fast and flowy dirt bike trail through the Mount Emily Recreation Area. It is mostly a smooth dirt trail, not too narrow, that winds through a scenic forest with open meadows and ponderosa pines. It has sweeping corners, mildly shelfy sections, a couple of embedded rocks to add some minor difficulty, and some tighter tree sections, but is overall easy and ideal for riders with basic single-track experience. There are a few bigger embedded rocks that are easy to ride over, some tighter tree gaps, and a couple of steeper sections. It's a great place for beginner riders to practice their single-track skills, but where more experienced riders can also have fun in the flowy terrain. There is a fun section through tall and skinny lodgepole pines in a darker, denser forest where you have to practice tighter maneuvers through the trees. Then it descends down to an overlook above the rural valley of La Grande, Oregon. After a 1.6-mile loop, it ends on Dead Bull, which you can take back to where you started.
