Trail Overview
Globe Road is a well-maintained dirt road that serves as a connector between Blowing Rock and Upton, linking the northern section of Pisgah National Forest to its more central areas where additional trails are found. The road to the north passes through private property with houses located close to the roadside. As it continues south, the landscape transitions into a more forested environment within the national forest. Due to the residential area and its use as a connector, the road sees regular traffic, so drivers should exercise caution when passing other vehicles. While the road is generally smooth, a few scattered ruts and potholes add some mild roughness. Along the route, several hiking trailheads can be found, offering opportunities for exploration. Additionally, an offshoot trail--Thunder Hole (FS 4071)--branches off the main road. This side trail is narrower, rougher, and more overgrown, offering a greater challenge for those seeking a more rugged drive.

Difficulty
The trail is relatively easy and accessible to most vehicles. The most challenging aspects are a few scattered ruts, potholes, and some narrow sections along the route. While it can be driven at a quicker pace, it's important to exercise caution, as the road can be fairly busy with other vehicles, hikers, and local traffic.
