Trail Overview

Gnasty W/AG is an intermediate single track with several rocky obstacles. It climbs up from the south end of Otero Canyon to meet back up with the Blue Ribbon trail. It's a steady climb, only gaining 220 feet of elevation. It has a steady flow of loose rocks though. The trail is narrow as it climbs up and has several switchbacks to get on top of the mesa. Most of the switchbacks are pretty wide and easy, but one of the switchbacks has a big rock ledge that is harder. Riders have built up rocks as a ramp to help with this ledge. There are also some rock obstacles in between the switchbacks. Once you get past the switchbacks, you're in a pinyon pine forest and the trail meanders on top of the mesa. This is a fun challenge to make a loop with Blue Ribbon, Otero Canyon, and West Ridge.
