Trail Overview

This challenging route has great off-road, boondocking campsites on both ends. The trail is narrow, and the middle part of the trail does not have any places to pull off due to the dense fern foliage. There are a few small water crossings that can be tricky. The most difficult sections are not very long but have deep ruts and rocks.

Access Description

The north entrance to this trail is inconspicuously on the south side of FR 70 just west of the Palomas Trailhead. The south entrance is west of the American Creek Cabins through a green unlocked gate.
