Trail Overview
This route is a mix of oil well roads, and mid-width trail ideal for 60" SxSs, ATVs, and dirt bikes. It goes through an open desert near Aztec, New Mexico. It's made up of primitive oil well/natural gas access roads that are less maintained, with shallow ruts and washouts and sandy wash crossings. You'll need high clearance for the dips into the washes. It cuts across from the oil well roads onto more of a narrow trail through the badlands terrain. It can be confusing out here with lots of tracks and washes and intersections, so a map is extremely helpful. The trail winds between the pinyon trees, and past a few random rock formations. It passes several oil wells and ends on the south end at the Aztec Dog Park and a fishing pond.
