Trail Overview
This single track is a mix of desert sand washes and a ridgeline through the Nelson OHV Area. It starts in a gravely, sandy, dark grey wash next to tons of cactus at the base of the hills. There are tall yuccas you need to watch your arms on, and it's sometimes like a maze in the wash with lots of different trails departing from the wash. You can play around on tons of other off-shoots. It climbs out of the wash, up and over small hills, then turns into a ridgeline trail elevated on the hills. It goes back into the wash with cool rock walls and spots of deeper sand. There's often a trail that climbs out of the wash on some of the corners and then dips back in. There are some big hill climbs out of the wash to take you onto the ridgeline again and ride along the tops of the hillsides. It's fast and fun atop the hills, requiring some hill climbing to the peaks on a rocky surface, with cool views from on top. The trail has sharp jagged loose rocks and some embedded rock in the surface on the climbs. After a bunch of ups and downs, it drops down into the wash and ends.
