Trail Overview
High Voltage is a fun and fast trail connecting the Color Rock Quarry Trail in the north to the Nellis Bypass in the south. This trail primarily consists of a compacted gravel surface, with ample space to pull over and allow oncoming traffic to pass. As you navigate High Voltage, you'll encounter an easy grade with the occasional slight washout, making it accessible for various vehicles. However, be mindful of the wash crossings; some may have deep washouts around the culverts that could pose a risk if approached at high speed, potentially leading to rollovers. Caution is advised to preserve both safety and your vehicle's well-being. Along the way, you'll be rewarded with fantastic views of Las Vegas and the iconic Strip as you descend, creating a visually stunning backdrop for your adventure. This trail is part of an excellent access route connecting the Nellis OHV area to the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Important Note: Cellular service is limited along this trail, typically providing only one bar of LTE that may fade in and out. Before heading out, remember to download your offline maps and prepare thoroughly for your desert adventure by bringing ample water and supplies.
