Trail Overview
The trail starts about 25 miles outside of Austin, Nevada, off Highway 50. It is an out-and-back trail taking you up to New Pass Peak at 9009 feet. You will travel along Gilbert Creek, which runs year-round, drawing lots of wildlife to this little hidden oasis in the desert. The solar system for the radio towers at the top makes for a nice shade structure to stop and have lunch.
