Trail Overview
This stretch runs arrow-straight for miles, its broad gravel surface kept in decent shape but pocked with washboard and small dips where side roads splice in. The route threads one family farm after another, so expect a steady trickle of pickups and grain trucks, especially near driveways and crossroads. Although the road invites an easy cruise, those corrugations will shake loose gear if you let your speed creep too high. There are no campsites, trash bins, or water sources anywhere along the way, and cell reception fades in and out, so come prepared to look after every need yourself.

History
The Gravel Line follows a scenic stretch of Nebraska's rural past, from Kansas to Nebraska, entirely on gravel. These quiet backroads once linked farms, rail towns, and prairie homesteads--routes shaped by everyday life on the Plains. Today, the trail invites travelers to slow down and experience the landscape much as early settlers and locals once did. It's a peaceful drive through rolling hills, open skies, and the quiet history woven into Nebraska's countryside.
