Trail Overview

The start of the trail is easy to get to--right outside of the Peru town and the Peru College campus. The Missouri River can be easily viewed and accessed throughout the trail. There is a boat ramp that's easily accessible when in dry conditions. Camping and fishing are free around this location. Part of the trail is owned by Nebraska and is public land. Signs say shooting is allowed as long as "non-toxic bullets" are used. Beavers can also be spotted by the river and are very active.

Difficulty

The road starts off as gravel and dirt but gets more dirt-heavy the further in you travel. When it has rained, it is very muddy and 4WD will be required. Recovery equipment may be necessary when rainfall has occurred, especially near the end of the trail.
