Hypo Creek

Trail Overview

This trail is accessed from Little Creek Road and has an eerie atmosphere due to the extensive fire damage in the surrounding forest and the presence of two spooky homes at either end of the trail. The trail is effectively divided into two sections. The first half is rough, unmaintained, and leads to a logging site and a residence at the end, with much of the surrounding forest severely burned. Beyond this point, the trail narrows considerably and is suitable only for ATVs or side-by-sides. The second section, also accessed from Little Creek Road, leads to a bridge that was damaged in recent fires but has since been repaired with new timber laid over the charred original structure. The forest along this stretch is heavily burned, and the trail is muddy, bumpy, narrow, and increasingly overgrown. Despite the devastation, there is a well-kept home at the end of this portion of the trail, just past a sign marked "Deer." Beyond the house, the trail becomes extremely narrow and appears to be used only by snowmobiles. There are no formal or dispersed campsites along the route, and the area lacks basic amenities such as trash disposal, potable water, and restrooms. Cell service is likely limited or unavailable, and anyone venturing here should be fully self-sufficient.
