Trail Overview

One of the best waterfall hikes in Kentucky lies along this well-maintained gravel forest road. Dog Slaughter Tail connects to Cumberland Falls Trail, with a great view coming along the bottom of the falls towards the State Park. There is a very heavy vehicle presence all along this road for hiking around the area, with sometimes both sides of the road being lined with cars. This road falls along the main section of trails for the Kentucky Adventure Trail (KAT Main 2).

Difficulty

This is well-maintained all year, and is very much like the other gravel roads in this area. It's a very easy road to navigate.

Easy gravel road. One tree over the road due to tornado but could still fit under it. The rest had been cut out of the way.
