Trail Overview

This is the most easily runnable Public-Land only route from 10 Mile Pass / Indian Creek area to the Cow Camp area. It is all dirt starting from the Indian Creek trailhead off of 10-mile pass road. This route skirts the northeastern base of the Chesterfield range. You will pass through a variety of terrain mostly sagebrush steppe, and through some small patches of quaking aspen groves. The majority of the trail is rutted and uneven, although there has been some logging activity on a portion of the trail, which has smoothed it out but made it really dusty. There are 3 water crossings, which as their peak in the spring are around 12-18" deep, but mostly less than 6" deep. Overall this is a fairly easy trail for sxs and jeeps, but a little rough for other 4x4s.

Difficulty

This trail consists of primitive ranch roads and old logging roads. They are all unmaintained, rutted, and uneven. Water crossings typically are only a foot deep, although they may be deeper in the spring. It is easily passable in a SXS or Jeep, and still doable in a pick-up truck, or stock off-road SUV.
