Trail Overview

This out-and-back trail branches off Ss1051 and quickly transitions into a narrower, rockier desert track heading toward the hills. The route winds through dense desert creosote and becomes increasingly tight in areas. Expect pinstripes along the sides and light undercarriage brush contact. High-clearance 2WD or 4WD is recommended due to frequent bumps and uneven terrain, though there are no technical obstacles. As you approach the hills, the landscape becomes especially scenic. In spring, this trail comes alive with vibrant wildflowers blanketing the desert floor. Ocotillo cacti stand tall among heavy concentrations of prickly pear near the tank at the end of the route. The turnaround point near the tank offers a peaceful setting surrounded by hills -- an ideal spot for a lunch break, sunrise, or simply taking in the quiet desert beauty.
