Trail Overview
This is a short route on a partly graded road that will take you to the CCC Camp that was occupied from 1935-36. This route on the map is very straightforward and the scenery is fantastic. It looks like there is some BLM construction or grading activities along the way, so this route may change in the future.

Difficulty
This road is not difficult and appeared to be maintained through recent grading about 1/2 the way in. The last half is dirt trail with some dips caused by erosion/water. Overall any vehicle can make it in.
History
The camp was established in 1935 and was active for about 2 years. The purpose was to protect and preserve the Upper Gila River Valley. The camp housed (in tents) 150-200 young men who built check dams, lines of rocks spreaders and contour furrows on state and federal lands. As you drive the trail you will see rows of rocks on either side of the trail. I am unsure but these were probably some of the erosion prevention work.
