Trail Overview
Washboard Wash is part of the Havasu to Kingman connector trail and is best accessed from the south trailhead off State Highway 95 North of Lake Havasu City. You will need to air down if you're in a truck or SUV once you hit the gravel. It's a fun narrow trail with loose sandy gravel in the washes that turn to hellacious washboard whoops where the perfect speed is needed. The first climb out of the wash is the most technical. Stay right off the deep rut and climb slowly to keep control. I ran it in 4L with the rear diff locked in the F150. The rest of the wash climbs are less difficult but there are alternate routes along the trail that are more difficult if desired. Dispersed campsites can be found along most of the southern route. This trail is closed from January 1st through June 30th due to seasonal rains.
