Trail Overview

The trail begins at the cemetery on a gravel road lined with desert creosote, offering northern views of the Mine and Slaughter Mountain. After a red gate--which should remain closed--the trail becomes more natural with larger river rocks and smooth stones. High clearance 2WD is sufficient, and while there are bumps and some pinstripe potential, nothing is technically difficult. The route follows alongside the mine, with slightly larger rock sections on the north side before returning to smooth gravel. The trail then turns left and ends at the Sa1010 at a T-intersection. Watch for ruts on the quick ups and downs. Along the way, enjoy beautiful desert scenery with Palo Verde trees, cactus, and ground cover--especially stunning at sunset. This trail is not recommended in bad weather.

Difficulty

High clearance is needed due to washouts and river rocks that increase in size along the route. While conditions may require attention, there are no significant technical obstacles.
