Trail Overview
The south end of H1387 starts in a wash, then it immediately turns out of the wash up a steep, eroded climb full of loose, round rock. It climbs the entire 1.7 miles from south to north, with the steepest spot at the entrance, becoming more gradual as you climb. There are several short, rocky, steep climbs full of small, loose, round rock that test your traction, but it also becomes less rocky as you keep climbing. It gets up to a ridge line overlooking the Hualapai Mountains with beautiful views. There is no sign at the entrance from the south, but you'll see route markers later on to indicate you're on the right path, which is easy to follow. It rides right next to prickly pear cactus and cholla cactus that can grab your hands if you're not careful. The trail tops out at an intersection with a primitive road, which you can take back to Blake Ranch Road. This makes a good loop with BLM route 7188 and H1445 for adventurous riders.
