Tucked away in the heart of the Sonoran Desert, the Eagle Tail Wilderness offers a rugged backcountry experience for adventurers seeking solitude, scenery, and a taste of the wild Arizona desert. This trail winds through a remote section of the Eagle Tail Mountains Wilderness, showcasing sweeping desert vistas, dramatic mountain silhouettes, and a rich tapestry of native cactus species. The trail includes soft sand washes, rocky ledges, and occasional tight squeezes between desert flora. A high-clearance 4x4 vehicle with off-road tires is strongly recommended.

Uneven, rutted dirt trail with potential for loose rocks and sandy washes. Water crossings are less than a foot deep. Potential for mud holes and trail obstacles up to 12", including ledges and short, steep grades.
