Parker Creek - FS 243/3294

Trail Overview

This trail starts out as a fairly easy track, though tight vegetation quickly lines the corridor. Within the first 0.1 miles, look for an old stone building on the right. As you head north, you'll be treated to beautiful views of the canyons ahead, including a stunning section where the trail skirts a canyon dropping into Parker Creek, with smooth white rock walls and flowing water below. There are a few great camp spots along the canyon edge. Just past the gate, several washouts create extreme off-camber sections that require careful driving. There is also a spring on the left where the trail dips into a gully, though this section is best explored on foot rather than driven. The trail becomes much tighter with trees closing in, eventually leading to a grove of old trees with very low, thick branches overhanging the road. The route ends at a fence with a 10-foot-high barbed wire overhang. Due to the tight vegetation, overhanging branches, and narrow corridor, this trail is not recommended for full-size vehicles past the gate. Road is labeled FS 3294 on one end and FS 243 on the other.

This trail is rated 3/10 due to the off-camber washouts, tight tree sections, and narrowing corridor beyond the gate. While not highly technical in terms of obstacles, the limited space and uneven terrain make it better suited for smaller, more maneuverable vehicles.
