Trail Overview
Trail of Opportunity is a point-to-point connector trail that runs primarily east-west through the desert before turning as it approaches the wash. The route is a dirt and gravel road that is generally easy to drive but can be bumpy with a few scattered rocks along the way. The trail is easy to navigate and suitable for most high-clearance vehicles. Desert vegetation lines the route, including creosote and cholla cactus, and as the trail reaches the wash, it becomes lined with beautiful saguaros, creating a classic Sonoran Desert landscape. Camping opportunities can be found in the surrounding area. The trail eventually wraps around and connects with West Rockaway Hills Road. This area is located on Arizona State Trust Land, and a State Trust Land permit is required to access the trail.
