Trail Overview
The road to Rancho Juan begins on the west side as a lightly-used two-track, with sandy patches early on. After the first right turn, you'll encounter sections that require high clearance and possibly four-wheel drive, especially when wet. As you descend into the Rancho Juan area, a large ranch and unique stone buildings appear on the left, distinct from the typical structures in the region. Unlike many nearby trails, this one is relatively smooth, with few washboards. Along the way, you'll pass notable landmarks like a pink house surrounded by cattle, interesting birdlife, and various cacti. This trail offers a scenic route between Highway 1 and connections to the coastal roads.

Difficulty
Although this is not a difficult trail there is 100 yards of sand from the West and two ravines deeper than a foot that you will need to cross. After clearing those it is an easy maintained route to the highway.
