Trail Overview
This trail begins at Santa Marta Road and quickly passes through a seemingly vacant ejido before leading into a narrow, sandy desert path surrounded by dense, towering desert vegetation. The route offers stunning scenery, abundant birdlife, and sightings of rabbits and other desert wildlife, making it a picturesque journey. While the sand becomes a few inches deep in areas, particularly on uphill sections, airing down your tires significantly eases the drive. There are no major obstacles along the way, but you will cross two open gates with cattle guards before reaching a four-way intersection. From there, a right turn leads to Mision Santa Gertrudis, while a left turn takes you toward El Arco.

Difficulty
Although not very difficult during dry conditions, having low air pressure in your tires will make the gradual sandy climbs a bit easier and having 4WD on standby is recommended.
