Trail Overview
Woods Trail is a narrow gravel route characterized by large, chunky rocks that create a noticeably loose driving surface. Traction can vary throughout the trail due to the size and depth of the gravel, requiring steady throttle control and attention to steering input. The road narrows to a single lane in multiple sections, so drivers should remain alert for oncoming traffic and use pull-off areas when available. Fallen branches may be present along the route, occasionally requiring drivers to carefully maneuver around debris in loose dirt. Approximately midway through the trail, a deep mud hole introduces the most notable terrain feature. While the mud hole can become challenging in wet conditions, a bypass is available for those who prefer to avoid it. The trail eventually T-intersects with Thorn Trail, providing continued access to the surrounding system. Drivers should remain on the designated trail and exercise caution during wet weather to prevent additional trail damage. Restroom access is also limited during the winter months, with the only open facilities generally at the RV Campground.

Difficulty
Woods Trail is rated a 2 due to its very loose, chunky gravel surface and the presence of a deep mud hole along the route. The loose rock creates variable traction that elevates the experience above a Level 1 maintained road. Although the mud hole can be significant depending on moisture levels, a bypass exists, and the obstacle does not represent sustained technical terrain throughout the trail. Outside of these features, the route does not contain large ledges, steep grades, or deep water crossings. Overall, the sustained experience aligns with a dirt or rocky road where small obstacles and traction variation may be encountered, making it suitable for most 4WD and high-clearance 2WD vehicles in dry conditions, with increased caution advised after rain.
