Trail Overview

This long, well-maintained gravel trail is well-traveled and winds through a forested landscape. The surface is generally smooth, although there are sections with light corrugation. The trail is popular with horseback riders, and there is a designated camp area that accommodates both horses and people. This camp is equipped with water, pit toilets, fire rings, picnic tables, a wooden cabin-style shelter, and trash disposal facilities. About halfway along, the trail passes through an active logging area where trucks and heavy machinery may be operating, so caution is advised. From there, the route continues through the forest until it reaches its end at a paved road and the entrance to Hayes Lake State Park. The combination of recreational facilities and forest scenery makes it a route frequented by both trail riders and casual visitors.
