Trail Overview
Packer Gulch is a out and back trail which begins just West of Tarryall Reservoir. The trail starts through open meadows with some dispersed camping areas that are suitable for a vehicle pulling a camper to navigate around and park comfortably. Trail starts double wide with enough room for vehicles to pass. Do not take trailers past the T-junction between West Packer and Packer Gulch. Packer Gulch quickly becomes heavily wooded/single lane as the trail ascends up the mountain. Short wheel base vehicles will have not issues navigating the switchbacks. Long trucks will need to complete 3 point turns. Once at the trail end there is plenty of room for around 8 vehicles, along with 2 dispersed camp sites. There is a great overnight camp spots at the top of the trail. Area is great for OHV/ATV day riding with lots of adjacent trails to explore with a combination of time spent at Tarryall Reservoir fishing or boating. Winter time for snow mobiles.
