onX Hunt Presents
Gameday
Gameday follows real hunters into the field and shows how they solve the real problems we all encounter. See the hunt as it happens, then learn from a panel of experts as they break it down and reveal the key decisions that made the difference.
THIS WEEK
Dakotas Two for One
The Dakotas are a special place to be in the fall, especially when you have a whitetail buck tag in your pocket and enough bird dogs in tow to find and flush every pheasant within miles.

Meet The Team

Lake Pickle
Born and raised in Mississippi, Lake grew up chasing whitetails and waterfowl across the hardwoods and flooded timber of the Deep South, where a deep love for wild places and wild things took hold early. Now rooted in his home state, he brings that same hands-on passion to his work at onX Hunt.
Whether he’s out duck hunting with his dog, calling turkeys across state lines, or sitting behind a dangerous game rifle on the plains of Africa, Lake is always chasing the next adventure.
Most importantly, Lake is driven by a belief that the hunting tradition is worth fighting for — on the landscape, in the culture, and in the next generation of hunters who deserve wild places worth exploring.

Ben Brettingen
Hailing from the land of 10,000 lakes, Ben spends much of the fall and winter following pointing dogs through grouse woods, western plains, and deserts of North America in pursuit of upland birds. A passionate conservationist, he is an active member of Pheasants and Quail Forever and serves on the Board of Directors for the Ruffed Grouse & American Woodcock Society.
Above all else, he is a devoted husband and father of two, driven by a deep belief in preserving the opportunities that shaped his life so the next generation can inherit them with the same sense of wonder and possibility.

Jared Larsen
Jared grew up in Wisconsin, loaded into backpacks before he could walk and chasing whatever was in season. Bowhunting whitetails eventually became his passion, leading him to Iowa State for the deer tags, where he earned a marketing degree before spending the next decade helping get the onX Hunt app into the hands of serious hunters.
His seasons follow the calendar: elk and Alaska adventures in early fall, Midwest whitetails through November, then ducks, upland birds, and the occasional Southern deer hunt in winter. But what matters most is sharing camp with family—his fiancée, parents, siblings, uncles, and cousins. Preserving those opportunities for future generations is what hunting is all about for him.

Dylan Dowson
Born and raised in Montana, Dylan grew up hunting the sagebrush and coulees of eastern Montana, where a lifelong passion for western big game and wild places took root. Now based in Missoula, he has spent more than a decade at onX, helping hunters prepare for their adventures through his work. Whether he’s scouting a new unit, planning the next season, or carrying a tag in his pocket, he’s always looking ahead to the next adventure.
Whether in the field or at home, Dylan’s priorities begin with family. As a husband and father of two sons, he’s focused on raising the next generation with a deep appreciation for hunting, wildlife, and the places that make those experiences possible.

Steve Beaulieu
Steve grew up in Vermont, chasing anything with fins, feathers, or fur. He’s still a bit of a generalist at heart, but the last few seasons he’s gone all-in on birds, mostly thanks to his wirehaired pointing griffon. Specifically, waterfowl has been a lasting passion since childhood days of cold boat rides and layout blind naps. He loves the process of getting birds in front of barrels, and is entertained by the ingenuity and grit that comes with the pursuit: boat mods, custom blinds, and endless ways to achieve the perfect motion on the water.
After bouncing around a few regions of the country, Steve landed in the West. Living in a variety of places, each with different levels of public access and wildlife habitat, taught him one thing: quality of life is tied to the ecological underpinnings of the land around it. Chasing wild things in wild places, and helping protect them, is his “why”, and that path led to his work at onX.

Nate Akey
Nate grew up in Michigan’s lower peninsula, bow in hand from a young age, learning the woods alongside his dad and chasing every species the state offered with a close group of friends. That early pull turned into a calling, a degree in Natural Resource Management and a Master’s in Biology built a hunter’s instincts on a foundation of hard science. Now onX Hunt’s Community and Social Media Marketing Manager, he points both his work and his lens at the landscapes and culture he loves.
An upland hunter at heart, Nate follows his two German Shorthaired Pointers, Tikka and Maisie, across the country after whatever’s flushing. He has a habit of roaming out of state, but when he’s not behind the dogs he’s in a duck blind or on a whitetail stand at the family farm, with most of the offseason spent training the dogs for the next one. Above all, he cares deeply about public lands and wildlife conservation, protecting the places and wild things that shaped him so the next generation can discover them too.
