Compass Mode
We used Compass Mode to mark the location of antelope before losing sight of the herd. By ranging the animals and using Compass Mode, we could quickly determine whether they were on public or private land, helping us know if we needed to try and get permission before making a move.

Private/Public
The name of the game was covering a lot of country and locating as many antelope as possible. Once we found the best buck we could, we’d determine whether he was on public or private land and, if needed, start working to gain access. We were constantly checking public / private land boundaries throughout the hunt.

Line Distance Tool
I used the two-finger Line Distance tool constantly to measure potential shot distances. By mapping the distance from the herd to a potential setup location, I could quickly determine where we needed to be for a successful stalk.
In-Vehicle Hunting Maps
We spent a lot of the hunt covering country from the truck and behind the glass. With onX Hunt running through Apple CarPlay, we always knew what type of land we were driving through. Whenever we approached public land, we’d stop and glass more thoroughly for antelope—all without having to constantly look down at our phones, helping us stay focused on the road ahead.
