Has CWD Been Identified in Your State?

Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) is a neurodegenerative disease resulting in abnormal behavior, loss of body condition and eventual death. CWD is 100% fatal and is found in most species of the deer family (cervids), including elk, moose, mule and white-tailed deer. onX Hunt has partnered up with QDMA to create a CWD Layer in the onX Hunt App.

Stay on Top of CWD Information

Stay up to date about CWD in your area. One of the most important things a hunter who takes a deer home can do is make certain unused carcass parts end up at a landfill and not in the environment where other deer can encounter them. Make sure to check regulations on transportation across borders as well as in-state transportation, especially if CWD is known in your area.

CWD Header #2

Did you know that CWD can spread through urine, feces, saliva, blood, deer parts via live deer? Because of this, hunters should avoid moving high-risk parts of dead animals from a known disease area. These parts include the brain, spine, eyes, spleen, tonsils and lymph nodes.
