Trail Overview
This trail is a portion of Marinette County Trail 5 which runs from the town of Athelstane to Dunbar. The trail surface is primarily sand as it winds through several different types of forest. The trail starts if traveled south to north on some gravel forest roads. Slowly transitioning into a sandy surface, with some small-sized rocks mixed throughout. Areas with large concentrations of pine trees, old-growth hardwoods, and poplar can be seen. In the fall this allows for some spectacular views of the color, as the variety of trees helps to give the "ideal" fall appearance. There are portions of this trail that are traveled by any road-legal vehicle, caution should be taken in these areas.
