Trail Overview
Sloan Creek is an easy, beautiful trail deep down Mountain Loop. While most vehicles can traverse this trail, note that it is laden with potholes of varying sizes. There are a few washes that most likely flood during spring and have river rock-style crossings. Since this section of the mountain loop is only open from summer to fall, one will never see a water crossing there. This trail has many dispersed campsites off it. Some dispersed sites have river access around mile 3 and there is a hiking trail to North Fork Sauk Falls around mile 3 as well. Horse flies are unfortunately abundant here. The trail also has an impassable section around mile 7 due to a landslide. There is also a first come first serve campground near the end of the passable section of this trail. Signage at this trail indicates that no OHVs are allowed.

Difficulty
The trail can be passed with most higher clearance 2WD and virtually any 4x4. Lots of potholes, some shallow and some deep but they are passable. There are a few washes that have lots of river rock but are also passable with care.
