Trail Overview
Flowy double track that is good for all skill levels. The trail is only wide enough for ATVs and dirt bikes. Can be ridden as fast or as slow as comfortable. Roots and softball-sized rocks are scattered throughout. Concrete pavers in a couple of areas to help the trail maintain shape in wetter areas. Trail pops out onto a dirt road in a couple spots, but the trail is labeled with yellow diamonds and blue "trail" signs with arrows. This trail will wind you through the forest with some blind corners. The trail is very wet in the rainy season, and puddles can get to about 12" deep in areas. There is very little elevation change outside of the south end of the trail at the clearing. Here, there is a roughly 40ft, moderately steep hill with loose dirt and rocks. This section can be bypassed on an easier, more gradual incline section. Coming from the south, travel 140yds east once you reach "Goat Ranch Road". The trailhead will be on your left (north). Coming from the north, rather than turning right (west) down the hill into the clearing, continue straight until you reach "Goat Ranch Road," where you then turn right (west) about 140yds, and the trail will pick back up on the left-hand side (south). The trail is wide enough to pass other riders with several areas to pull off. Note that the trail is 2-way, so watch for other riders as it is one of the more popular trails at Tahuya. You can continue on to other sections of the Overland Trail or get off and ride the dirt road to the next preferred trail.
