Bacon Creek

Potholes are a lot worse than I remember from a few years ago. The trail constricts between foliage and widens at various points. It gets pretty tight but it’s soft greenery that won’t damage your paint too bad. There are abundant pull-offs that allow for tight turn arounds. I turned back roughly 2 miles in due to water over the road (pictured). I likely could have made it but didn’t feel like trying my luck as it was starting to get dark and was after a heavy rain. There was also a pretty alarming spot (pictured) roughly 1 mile in where a large portion of the creek heavily runs against the embankment under the road. I didn’t get out to look but suspect it is fairly washed out in this area and recommend using caution. There were two abandoned cars at a closed gate that were easily passable.
