Trail Overview
This trail is a gravel forest road that climbs and winds through the National Forest and pieces of Timber Company land. The trail is relatively smooth, but a large portion of it is steep and a shelf road. While climbing and snaking your way up the trail, you will have amazing views of nearby peaks and 3 different volcanoes: Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and Mount Saint Helens. There are many dispersed camping pull-offs along this route, but other than that, there are no amenities. The start of this trail is approximately 10 miles from Morton, Washington, where you will find services and supplies. Cell phone service was decent along this trail, and there are many other trails to explore that split off from this trail. Any vehicle could traverse this trail when there is no snow present, but for many of the offshoot trails in the area, high clearance 4x4 is recommended.
