Trail Overview
Forest Road 6507 is a short connecting trail from the paved Wind River Road to FR 65 (Panther Creek) where the Thomas Lake trailhead is located. The trail is predominantly in dense, thick forest, but occasionally, and briefly, the forest opens up, and views down the mountainside can be enjoyed. Trail conditions include potholes and erosion to navigate but are otherwise safe for 2WD vehicles. Low-hanging trees could be encountered. Posted a sign at the beginning of the trail, "Road closed to wheeled vehicles Dec 1 - April 1 for Winter Recreation". There is also a sign about the "Cowlitz Tree Improvement Co-Op" (more in the Trail History description). No cellular service.
