Union Springs

The bottom half is a nice ride, rough gravel 2wd ready but it has nice forest vibes and a water crossing. The upper half is called “stone gap” pretty much puts you right into 4 Lo. With optional obstacles from rock steps, both going up and down. Water/mud crossings with a a nice choose your own path area to play in. After that a hill climb to a 2 foot rock step. A stock fj cruiser trail teams we had in the group made it with good spotting. After that it’s more skippable obstacles but they are worth giving a shot for a ton of fun. Once at the upper end of the mountain there are great camp sites with great views (both on stone gap and flagpole knob)

Beginning of the trail, South end I started on, very beginning was easy going in few a little bit than started to gradually get rocky and rough, had some technical climbs and lines to make in some areas going up, mud holes and water crossings throughout the the majority of the trail, good step climb up mountain and steel climb down. Beginning and end parts of this are stock friendly, but some areas towards top of mountain you need a decent stock “offroad capable” vehicle like a sport or rubicon, trd model toyota. Very fun trail, i ran this up to flagpole knob.

Lots of running water. Ran it during a thunderstorm. Very washed and rutted out from recent heavy rainfall. Plenty of mud to play around in.
