Trail Overview

Great views along the ridge off to the west. Rating 2 out of 10 is easily manageable with a high clearance 4x4 (examples: Colorado ATX, Trailboss, Rubicon). Some rough terrain, but nothing you can't manage with a lifted 4x4 jeep or truck. This is a narrow trail that would require coordination to pass. Two camp sites are available just off the entrance heading towards Bother Knob that are private from the flagpole knob trail. Great option as we only saw 1 vehicle on this specific trail, but did hear many others passing. The second campsite off of Flagpole could easily accommodate 2-3 vehicles (4 if you used the dead-end trail that is accessible from this specific campsite located on the right. Terrain ranges from packed rocks to dirt. Some small puddles, but nothing of concern. A few recently trimmed trees were down near the midway point. Leads from Flagpole to Bother Knob Trail, which as of today was impassable due to a downed tree. A small tree could have been removed easily if I had a hatchet. Road splits in a Y, which is a large area good for turning around if needed. Plan on heading back, hopefully in the next few weeks, to finish the trail, as the views were absolutely amazing.

Difficulty

The terrain changes from rock and packed dirt throughout the trail as you head deeper, there are some large mud puddles and ruts but nothing that is not easily passable. Highly recommend a high clearance 4x4 (Rubicon, Trailboss...)
