Trail Overview
This route blends fast sandy travel with just enough technical terrain to keep things interesting. The trail runs across open desert sections before working into a mix of eroded wash crossings, shallow ledges, and sandstone features that require more deliberate driving. Two heavily washed-out areas are the standout obstacles and can test suspension flex, tire placement, and ground clearance, especially on longer wheelbase vehicles. Several rock ledges along the route measure up to around 12 inches tall and are manageable with proper line choice. A notable slickrock climb sits on a gradual incline, but loose sand gathered at the base can reduce traction and make momentum control important. The loop portion of the route sees little traffic and has become narrow and overgrown in places, so expect brush contact and possible pinstriping. Stay on the established track, respect the fragile desert biome, and avoid widening the route around obstacles. This is a fun trail for drivers who enjoy variety without committing to extreme rock crawling. Non-resident OHV permits apply to ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes. Plated street-legal vehicles typically do not need one on legal motorized routes.

Difficulty
This trail is mostly a sandy desert route with a few technical features that raise the challenge level. The main obstacles are two eroded wash crossings that can test articulation, several ledges up to 12 inches, and a slickrock climb where loose sand at the base may reduce traction. Line choice and moderate clearance are helpful, but most stock high clearance 4x4s with 4lo range should handle it in dry conditions.
