Trail Overview

The Spring Creek Trail is 2.7 miles long, beginning at the Robertson Pasture Trail No. 020 at an elevation of 10,034 feet and ending at the Race Track Reservoir trail (FR 55113) at an elevation of 9,306 feet. This trail meanders through aspen groves and open meadows, offering views of Spring Creek and North Peak. In the fall, the golden yellow leaves of the aspens make this trail especially beautiful. The trail features a flowy design with a few switchbacks and some small rock gardens. You can connect to the Robertson Pasture Trail No. 020 and the Red Ledges Trail No. 019 from here. Please note that this area is sensitive and closely monitored, so it's crucial to stay on designated trails. Additionally, bike and motorcycle access is restricted from October 1 to May 1.

Access Description

Starting from the town of Monticello, head to the intersection of Hwy 191 and Abajo Drive, then proceed west up the hill for about 5.3 miles. Upon reaching this distance, turn left onto Indian Creek Road (FR 50079) and continue south toward Blanding for 5.1 miles. The trailhead will be on your right-hand side. From there, head west on the Robertson Pasture Trail No. 20 for 350 yards, and you will find the Spring Creek Trail No. 159 on your right. You can also access this trail, off the main road, North Creek Lane (NF 50049), by heading south on the Race Track Reservoir trail (FR55113) for approximately 1.3 miles, and you'll find the trailhead on your left-hand side.
