Trail Overview
This trail is an easy route off of North Slope Road that follows the East Fork of the Bear River to where it loops at a hiking trailhead and the bottom of Deadman Pass ATV Trail. The majority of the road is a well well-maintained gravel road that is maintained by both the Forest Service and Boy Scouts of America. Once you pass the second gate for the scout camp, the road becomes rougher, but is still manageable for most vehicles. This road has tons of dispersed camping off of the first section, and on the weekends and holidays will see heavy traffic from people running to and from camp, so be sure to watch your speed and approach corners carefully. This trail is closed from December 15th to May 1st when they close North Slope Road, but may be blocked by deep snow during the early months of the season.
