Trail Overview
This route combines a sandy base with enough embedded rock and ledges to keep drivers working the entire way. Although the trail surface starts with sand, it quickly becomes a rocky backcountry track with repeated obstacles ranging from a few inches tall to ledges approaching 18 inches. Careful tire placement, good clearance, and slow controlled driving are important throughout the route. One of the standout features is a steep rock slab section that requires extra attention. At the base of the slab, additional rocks have been stacked or moved by previous travelers in an attempt to soften the final drop, but it should still be approached cautiously. Several parts of the trail also tighten between regional trees and brush, making pinstriping very likely for wider vehicles. The route eventually ends at a dead end, but the return drive rewards you with excellent views of surrounding rock formations and the distant La Sal Mountains rising above the desert horizon.

Difficulty
This trail is consistently rocky with multiple ledges up to 18 inches tall, a steep rock slab descent, and tight brush-lined sections that increase the challenge. The obstacles are manageable for capable rigs, but careful tire placement and controlled driving are required throughout. Pinstriping and underbody contact are realistic risks. Recommended: High-clearance 4WD, low range, skid plates, 35-inch tires or larger, and sliders would be helpful.
