Trail Overview
Non-Resident OHV permits apply to ATVs, UTVs, and dirt bikes. Plated street-legal vehicles typically do not need one on legal motorized routes. Branching away from Molly Hogan, this lightly traveled route offers a quieter way through open desert terrain and connects directly to Molly Hogan's. The path winds across broad flats, sandy two-track, and scattered rocky patches while surrounded by colorful mesas, layered hillsides, and wide open views in every direction. Because traffic is minimal, the track can be faint in places and requires paying attention to stay on route. One of the more interesting landmarks is an old pole left behind from historic oil drilling activity, a reminder of the area's industrial past. Overall, this is an easy scenic connector with solitude, desert character, and expansive landscape views.

Difficulty
This route is generally easy with mostly sandy two-track terrain, mild rocky sections, and no major technical obstacles shown. The primary challenge is navigation, as the trail can be faint and lightly traveled in spots. Wet weather or poor visibility could increase difficulty slightly.
History
This region is closely tied to the uranium and vanadium mining booms that shaped eastern Utah in the mid-1900s. During the Cold War, demand for uranium surged, bringing roads, claims, camps, and small industrial sites into the desert. Evidence of that era still remains today in the form of old structures, fenced or barricaded mine openings, tailings areas, and abandoned access roads. These remnants are part of the area's story: look, photograph, and respect them without disturbing anything.
