Trail Overview

Part of the "Old Spanish Trail" original route in the Dixie National Forest. From this East (Highway 20) access, you can drive 36 miles of the trail. Very passible when the trail is dry. When the trail is muddy, it appears to be very soft and silty. This is a good place to start "Choose Your Own Adventure." There are many different trails you can connect to, and you can eventually connect to I-15.

Difficulty

If there is a potential for muddy trails after the weather, there is a risk for soft and boggy roads that can cause deep ruts.

History

Part of the "Old Spanish Trail" was a trading route from Santa Fe and ending to Los Angeles in the 1800's.
